Yoon wins Adobe Design Achievement Award

The Adobe Design Achievement Awards celebrate student achievement that reflects the powerful convergence of technology and creative arts. Students from schools in 24 countries throughout the world submitted nearly 1,500 entries to this years competition. Winners were chosen in nine categories, representing work by some of the most talented and promising student graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, animators, digital filmmakers, and computer artists from the worlds top institutions of higher education.

This years' finalist included: *SunHa Yoon*, student, Character Animation program for her film Kozard from Jelacoe: (below is an excerpt from the Adobe Design website)

Biography: Sunha Yoon is a character animator at California Institute of the Arts. Her interest in art and science began at home. Sunha used to draw and paint with her mom and discuss science projects with her dad. She went to school in Korea for further study in biology, and two years ago, she decided to study animation at CalArts. She finally got into film, which is new for her, and she's been exploring an interest in animation, motion graphics, and visual development.

Objective: It's 2D animation drawn by hand. But I added some texture and effects with Adobe Photoshop and After Effects, so it has a different and unique feeling.

Tools used: I used Photoshop for background and After Effects for drawings, camera moves, and other effects. And I used Adobe Premiere for exporting as
a movie file.

The student winners were honored by Adobe and the design community at a special event held on July 20, 2006, at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, Canada.
